Jaxson Dart delivered the biggest statement of his young NFL career on Thursday night — and managed to go viral in the process.

The New York Giants rookie quarterback not only survived a brief injury scare but bounced back to lead his team to a stunning 34-17 upset victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium.

Starting just his third NFL game after leapfrogging veteran Russell Wilson on the depth chart, the former Ole Miss star was poised and efficient, completing 17 of 25 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown — and perhaps most impressively, committed zero turnovers after throwing two interceptions in last week’s loss to the Saints.

The Moment Everyone’s Talking About

Early in the third quarter, with the Giants leading 20-17 and knocking on the door at the Eagles’ 1-yard line, Dart handed the ball to fellow rookie Cam Skattebo, who lunged toward the goal line. One of the officials, down judge Andy Warner, raised his arm to mark the ball short.

Rather than argue, Dart casually jogged up — and gave the official a high-five while his arm was still raised.

Fans and even broadcaster Al Michaels couldn’t believe it.

Moments later, replay confirmed the touchdown, putting New York up 27-17. The high-five instantly became one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

Dart Gets Major Praise

The internet quickly lit up with reactions, including from former NFL head coach Jon Gruden, who declared on X:

“Jaxson Dart has ARRIVED!”

Skattebo, who finished with three touchdowns, celebrated with Dart on the field — and the entire Giants sideline seemed energized by the rookie’s swagger and composure.

A Star in the Making?

With confidence, mobility, a clean performance, and a little viral flair, Dart didn’t just win a game — he may have ignited a quarterback controversy league-wide.

If this is only Game 3 of his career, the Giants — and the NFL — may be looking at their next breakout star.
