Star host Jimmy Kimmel applied for Italian citizenship to flee Donald TrumpThe host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has found a solution to escape the American president and his policies.

“I feel like it’s probably even worse than he himself would like it to be.” Jimmy Kimmel doesn’t mince words when it comes to Donald Trump’s return to the White House, as reported by La Voix du Nord . A guest on Sarah Silverman’s podcast, the late-night host of the late-night show that bears his name revealed that he recently acquired Italian citizenship in response to the Republican billionaire’s re-election, reports The Guardian.
According to the British media, the Italian news agency Ansa confirmed a few weeks ago that the presenter had indeed obtained Italian nationality through a lineage. “I have just obtained citizenship thanks to my dear grandmother Edith, whose family came from Candida, in the province of Avellino ,” Jimmy Kimmel had stated earlier this summer.

“A lot of people I know are thinking about where they might get their citizenship  ,” Sarah Silverman commented on her podcast. Several American stars have announced they’re applying for another citizenship or expressed a desire to move out of the United States since the results of the last US presidential election were announced, including Eva Longoria and Ellen DeGeneres.

Last May, the host of another major American late-night show, Stephen Colbert, saw his show canceled following a lawsuit filed by the president against the network that broadcast it. Donald Trump proudly wrote on social media: “I absolutely love that Colbert was fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I heard Jimmy Kimmel is next. He has even less talent than Colbert!”
