Elon Musk’s satellite internet service Starlink has officially surpassed 7 million customers worldwide marking another milestone for SpaceX’s ambitious low-Earth-orbit network. The company announced that it is now operational across 150 territories providing high-speed internet to remote areas, urban centres, and international travellers alike.

Since June 2025 when Starlink reported over 6 million users, the service has been adding roughly 12,200 new customers every day according to data compiled by tech influencer Sawyer Merritt. This rapid growth highlights the increasing demand for reliable high-speed internet powered by cutting-edge satellite technology.

Starlink has also introduced new laser technology capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 25 gigabytes per second from over 2,500 miles away. This upgrade significantly enhances global connectivity and could bolster SpaceX’s reputation for high-performance satellite internet under its Golden Dome initiative. The technology may also pave the way for onboard WiFi services for major Middle Eastern carriers including Emirates FlyDubai and Saudia flights.

Meanwhile SpaceX continues its Starship development with the 10th launch test conducted at Starbase in Texas. Despite previous delays and failures Elon Musk revealed that Starship V3 and V4 rockets are already in development promising more powerful engines and enhanced capabilities for the company’s flagship rocket.

Starlink has faced challenges as well including two network outages in the past two weeks, the first of which was traced to an internal software error. However, the company remains focused on expanding its coverage and improving service reliability for millions of customers worldwide.

With growing adoption global expansion and advanced satellite technology Starlink is redefining internet access across continents and taking a major step toward Musk’s vision of global connectivity.
