Brandon Blackstock’s eldest child, Savannah Blackstock Lee, has broken her silence after her father’s death.
Savannah, 23, penned a heartfelt Instagram tribute to her father on Tuesday, Aug. 19. Brandon, who died of melanoma at age 48 on Aug. 7, shares Savannah and son, Seth, 18, with ex-wife, Melissa Ashworth. He later remarried Kelly Clarkson, and the pair welcomed two children, daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9.
“My daddy never fell short of making my dreams come true,” Savannah began. “No matter how high or how far, he made a way. Not only did he make my dreams come true, he chased them with me. Worldwide he was there, my biggest cheerleader. He is my best friend, my voice of reason, and my favorite phone call every day.”

Savannah went on to share that over the past six months, he “gifted” Savannah a “new avenue of [their] relationship, and that was a relationship centered in Jesus.”
“He always loved the Lord, but 6 months ago he sought the Lord,” she shared. “He was hungry for the word and we did it together. He’s gifted me more than I could’ve asked for and deserved throughout my life, but 12 days ago he blessed me the most valuable gift I could’ve asked for. The gift of knowing where he is today, in Heaven with our Savior.”
“I lost a piece of my heart and my favorite Cowboy, but Heaven gained an angel,” she wrote. “I’m so thankful for the time I did have and I can’t wait for eternity. I love you daddy and I will miss you indefinitely. Enjoy your ranch up there, God designed it with your heart’s desires in mind.”
In Savannah’s Instagram post, she included a carousel of images with her dad, as well as Brandon with her siblings and her 3-year-old son, Lake. Just one month before her father’s death, Savannah revealed she is expecting another child with her husband, Quentin Lee.
One day after Brandon’s death, his brother, Shelby, shared an emotional tribute post on Instagram on Aug. 8.
Shelby, the son of Reba McEntire and her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, wrote, “Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured.”
“Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son,” Shelby, 35, continued. “Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family — funny, bright, and full of life — and he will be deeply missed. He taught me so much, leaving behind countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever.”
Shelby’s mother, McEntire, commented on the post, “Very well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much 💔💔🙏💔❤️❤️❤️🙏💔.”
