As you’re probably well aware due to the entire internet losing its mind yesterday, The Summer I Turned Pretty is not over. Not even close. Amazon Prime just announced The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie, a feature-length film written and directed by Jenny Han which will wrap up Belly (and Conrad’s!) story.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Jenny said in a statement. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

And naturally fans are convinced that Taylor Swift will somehow be involved. Which is a fair assumption since barely an episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty went by without at least one Taylor song being included (the limit on their soundtrack budget truly doesn’t exist!).
Anyway, TBD on when The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie comes out, but people think Taylor might go ahead and write an original song for it.

And honestly, if this sounds like a reach…it’s not! Taylor’s written original songs for several films over the years, including “Carolina” for Where the Crawdads Sing, and “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” (with Zayn) for Fifty Shades Darker.
Also, not to spiral even further into theories and speculation, but if Taylor did write an original song, it could technically be Oscar nominated since The Summer I Turned Pretty is going to be a feature-length movie. Just! Saying!
