Local Indonesian media reported that these photos were taken by oil rig workers operating in the southernmost waters of the South China Sea. One of the photos shows the “tank” floating in the sea, with turrets and artillery clearly visible. Although the object looks rusty, some of its external equipment is intact, including a spare external fuel tank and a tow rope.

In another photo, an anchored ship is trying to salvage the floating “tank.” According to reports, the ship tried to approach it, but was unable to approach due to the turbulent sea.
