SOPHIE Cunningham has revealed that Caitlin Clark declined the chance to join her rival league.

But with the WNBA season over until 2026, there is little opportunity for Clark and Cunningham to link up on the court.
However, the latter is looking to solve such issues after creating a new basketball startup.
Titled “Project B”, the rival league takes place in the off-season and would allow stars to retain their sharpness ahead of the new WNBA term.
There are already several other off-season leagues in action, such as Unrivaled and Athletes Unlimited.
But with Cunningham’s name behind it, Project B is hoping to become the standout brand.
Unfortunately for the ace, teammate Clark has no interest in joining.
Cunningham revealed she asked her pal to join in the action this year.
However, Clark rejected the opportunity after committing solely to the WNBA.

Cunningham told the Show Me Something podcast, “All these leagues are great, but at the end of the day, if you don’t have the WNBA, you don’t have the platform.
“You don’t have the eyes, you don’t have the recognition.
“I tried to get her (Clark) to play in Project B. She was like ‘no’.”
Reflecting on the new league, Cunningham added, “I think the people that are running it are just good, good people.
“What a great time to expand my brand globally. I get to play year-round, which will help me stay in shape… I’m hitting my prime.”
